Aurora
THIS GAME IS MADE FOR GAMEJAM4 BY BACKTRACE
Theme: no violence
This game intends to denounce the most extreme condition of violence, commonly called war, seen from the perspective of the fragile and defenseless side.
the game is so cruel and violent to make it clear thatviolence in any form is to be condemned
as it leads to an endless loop of conflict and horror.
in the game there is NO VIOLENCE itself, only it's consequences.

I guess I didn't quite understand the soldier part..
I'm really sorry to hear that...
basically you don't go closer to the soldiers or they see you.
but you can hide by staying still behind the big tires, when the screen goes darker you are hidden.
you wait the soldier to pass, and then you proceed.
Ah, I should read more carefully.
I played the game carefully.
I can say that the Jam theme was used in the best possible way. Gameplay part is missing :/ Hiding mechanics were used well, but insufficient. The visual presentation is excellent and the music is also really great. Sometimes there were scratches on the visual parts, I would like to report this technical issue as well.
If you solve the mechanics and the art of narration, you can produce works that can be considered quite literary. When I say art of narration, I mean just telling the story with text and nurturing the game as much as possible.
I'll end with two quotes :)
"the choice is not between violence and nonviolence but between nonviolence and nonexistence" Seems like a pretty tough choice...
and
"Listen to me it's much better not to know and keep the hope alive" Why...
First of all tank you so much for this comment, it makes me proud of my work.
The gameplay part was so minimal because i focused on the narration and setting up the atmosphere, the time was only 2 days and i finished it 2 hours before the deadline, therefore i know there are little technical imperfections.
if the game receives others overall positive feedbacks i will for sure keep developing it after the jam results.
you said "if you solve the art of narration", so you didnt like the narration?
I like the story but it can be boring to always come up as "text". If a book always comes across as text and what you're doing is a game, then - even if it's story-based - it should make a difference in telling the story. It doesn't have to make a difference in gameplay, whether the gameplay is mid or sub-mid, but it has to make a difference narratively. If this does not happen, if you make all your texts into a book and add your art to some pages of the book, nothing will change. If you want to tell a story with the game, the main thing is to feed that story into the game. Even if some places had sound instead of text, the effect would have been even greater. Please take this as constructive criticism :)
Ok i get what you mean, if it will be worth to continue the development, i'll try to improve with your tips. thank you for playing :)
